COLD LAKE – A Cold Lake woman is facing several drug and weapon related charges following multi-month drug trafficking investigation that resulted in the execution of a search warrant at a residence on July 25.
Police reported locating quantities of suspected controlled substances, a .22-calibre firearm, a quantity of Canadian currency, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia in the Cold Lake South dwelling.
The investigation was carried out by the Cold Lake RCMP General Investigation Section with the assistance of the RCMP’s Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit and the Cold Lake RCMP detachment.
Angel Blackman, a 31-year-old resident of Cold Lake, was arrested and charged in relation to the investigation.
Blackman has been charged with four counts of trafficking a controlled substance, possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order, failing to comply with the conditions of a release order, and possession of proceeds of crime.
The 31-year-old was released by a Justice of the Peace with conditions to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake on Aug. 23.
