COLD LAKE – RCMP continue to investigate a two-vehicle collision that occurred in an intersection just north of the Tri-City Mall on Wednesday afternoon.

Drugs are considered to be a factor in the collision at this time, say police.

RCMP and emergency responders were dispatched to a collision that occurred at the intersection of 69th Avenue and Highway 28 around 2:45 p.m. on June 28.

Police received reports that a white SUV travelling northbound on Highway 28 collided with a black Pontiac Sunfire that had been travelling west on 69th Avene and turned southbound onto Highway 28.

“The Sunfire failed to stop at the red light while making the left turn,” stated information provided by the Cold Lake RCMP.

“The occupants of the white SUV suffered minor injuries while the 26-year-old female driver of the Pontiac was transported to the hospital by EMS with non-life threatening injuries.”

While the RCMP believe that drugs played a factor in the collision, an investigation into the incident continues.
