Man arrested following stabbing in Cold Lake

A 23-year-old Cold Lake male was arrested and charged after police were called to a stabbing yesterday afternoon in Cold Lake.

COLD LAKE -  A 23-year-old Cold Lake male was arrested and charged after police were called to a stabbing yesterday afternoon. 

On May 11, just before 3 p.m., Cold Lake RCMP received a 911 call reporting a stabbing in the north. 

In addition to general duty officers, Cold Lake Police Dog Services (PDS) and the Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit (LCRU) were dispatched.

Officers found a male that had been stabbed multiple times. He was transported to a local hospital by family with non-life-threatening injuries. 

According to RCMP, a further investigation revealed that an altercation had occurred between two men and information about the suspect was provided to police. The suspect was tracked down at his Cold Lake residence and was arrested without incident. 

Tyrell Rowan has been charged with aggravated assault, two counts of possession of a weapon contrary to a prohibition order, possession of body armour, and failing to comply with an undertaking. 

He was remanded into custody and will appear in court May 13.
