Mock ‘Active Aggressor’ situation will see lock down of 4 Wing base

This afternoon, June 9, 4 Wing will be conducting an Emergency Response exercise within the limits of the base. Both public and residential areas will be included in the mock drill and lock-down.

COLD LAKE – This afternoon, June 9, 4 Wing will be conducting an Emergency Response exercise within the limits of the base, triggering a mock lock-down that will include the public and residential areas as well.  

“This scenario will depict an Active Aggressor situation, requiring a lock-down of the base,” explained information provided by the Canadian Armed Forces. 

The public can expect some potential interruptions when accessing 4 Wing for services, with higher than normal activity and noise in certain locations of the base. 

The Military Police and the RCMP will be participating in this exercise. 

“4 Wing is always mindful of the Lakeland community and this type of training is not intended to disrupt your valuable time,” noted 4 Wing Cold Lake Public Affairs. 

“This is an essential training requirement for our members and the community to be prepared in the case of a real-life situation.”
