Candidate Profiles are in the POST this week

In the paper this week are the candidate profiles of Lac La Biche County council and the Northern Lights School Division. Ward 1 incumbent Alvin Kumpula missed his opportunity to get his information into the paper, so his bio leads our website teaser taking you to the Oct. 8 Lac La Biche POST

Alvin was born and raised in the Rich Lake area. He's married with a son and a daughter that hie is very proud of. A power engineer by trade, Alvin has been in business for many years as well as hobby farming.

Alvin has served on Lac La Biche County council for three years and enjoys being at the council table. As a councillor, Alvin understands the needs of both urban and rural people. He firmly believes in a council working together to get things done within the means of the budget. He is committed to the financial well-being of the municipality. Alvin firmly believes in not spending more than you make.

Alvin Kumpula believes in fairness and respect for all taxpayers, and that no issue is too big or too small to be discussed and discussed well. "All ratepayers need to be heard," says Kumpula. "We need to prioritize issues to to the greatest benefit for all."

Alvin said the main issues he feels are affecting the residents of his ward and all Lac La Biche County residents include a need to endure fair and courteous service from municipal staff towards all residents as well as providing potable water for all residents. Alvin also is a firm believer in creating a better waste management and recycling system throughout Lac La Biche County.

I want to enhance all the communities within our municipality at the same time we are continuing to protect the environment in the county we all live and play in," he said.
