Emergency crews block Lac La Biche street at apparent crash scene

Passers-by offer assistance to victim and move traffic around incident scene

Emergency crews blocked traffic on103 Street east of Lac La Biche's Al-Kareem Mosque early Wednesday night as they dealt with an apparent vehicle collision.

Before an ambulance arrived, and prior to RCMP blocking traffic to the area, an SUV with its four-way flashers could be seen blocking the intersection at 102 Street as community members and peace officers attended to a person lying in the road. behind the vehicle.  A bicycle was lying in the roadway nearby.

An update on the incident will be provided when information is available.

Alternate routes

It is not known how long the road will be blocked to traffic. Motorists entering the Lac La Biche hamlet from Highway 36 to the south are advised to use the truck-route bypass near the Ramada hotel or 94 Avenue to detour around the scene. Motorists travelling from the west are advised to use 99 Avenue as an alternate route.
