First day of classes at Lac La Biche's Vera M. Welsh Elementary School

On Sept. 2, students from across the Northern Lights Public Schools (NLPS) school division started classes for the 2025-26 school year.

LAKELAND - It was the first day of classes for many students across the Lakeland region on Sept. 2, including students from Lac La Biche's Very M. Welsh Elementary School.
