LAC LA BICHE - Since 1946, the Venice Picnic has been a crowd-pleaser in the Lac La Biche region.
Honouring Italian heritage along with community pride from all cultures, the annual event once again took over the Venice church grounds on June 2 for an afternoon of fun, food and family.
Dodging rain-clouds that had blanketed the area all week, the Venice Picnic continued its tradition of fun in the sun, as hundreds turned out for the children's games, petting zoo, baseball games and the chicken and pasta lunch.
The event is hosted by the Venice-Hylo Heritage Historical and Preservation Society.
