Investigation continues into stabbings at Grassland-area bush party

Three local party-goers stabbed, Boyle and LLB police search for suspects

GRASSLAND - Boyle and Lac La Biche RCMP are continuing to investigate a series of stabbings that took place during a party in a rural area called the Donatville Dunes, south of Grassland in late October.

In the early morning hours of October 23, members in Lac La Biche and Boyle RCMP were called to their respective community hospitals by medical staff who were treating separate young men suffering from similar stab wounds. A third young man was also later treated for similar wounds.

None of the injuries were considered life-threatening.

Through the initial investigation, police learned all three victims had been part of a large group of area teens and young adults at a party held at the Donatville Dunes near the north shore of North Buck Lake. Police went from the hospitals to the party location — but no one was there.

Over the course of the continuing investigation, it has been determined that a group of youth and young adults were at the outdoor party when two suspects showed up and a physical altercation occurred. The brawl resulted in the injuries to the three males.

The suspects reportedly fled the scene in a dark coloured pick-up truck.

Police are seeking the public's help in locating the suspects or finding more information about the incident.

Descriptions of the suspects are not detailed.

The first male suspect was wearing a red vest, black hoodie, dark pants, and a blue face mask commonly used for COVID

The second mal suspect was wearing a sweater with a white hood and the lower portion being blue.

Boyle RCMP say the investigation is ongoing, and are asking anyone who attended the party or has information in relation to this incident to contact Boyle RCMP at 780-689-4081, their local police service, or CRIME STOPPERS at 1-800-222-TIPS. All CRIME STOPPERS tips are confidential.
