January 14 is last day of Lac La Biche County tree recycle program

No decorations and only natural trees

Lac La Biche County residents will have until the end of the work day on Thursday to recycle their Christmas Tree and help to spruce up local green-space.

The municipal Christmas Tree recycling program was in place this year from January 3-14, offering residents free curbside pickup of natural and un-decorated trees, and free drop-off at area landfills and transfer stations for rural residents. For every natural tree that was recycled, municipal officials say a new one will be planted in a Lac La Biche County park.

According to the Lac La Biche County schedule for landfill and transfer station operating hours, only the Lac La Biche and Plamondon landfills are open on Thursday — from 9 am to 4:30 pm.
