Kids Are Worth It board member, April-Dawn Fabbro and Coordinator, Rachel Feledichuk, were approached by two community members with the suggestion of adding an online garage sale Facebook page that would allow community members to see items with the proceeds going to the Kids Are Worth It organization. This new fundraising concept has been embraces and the launch of the page, titled "KAWIT Garage Sale," was launched on Oct. 22, 2013.

"The concept of utilizing social media to assist in fundraising is a fantastic idea," said Fabbro. "Not only is there a benefit to the organization, but also to our community members in terms of recycling their wares."

Feledichuk agrees.

"The organization benefits so many of our school children, which is essential in growing their enthusiasm for education and this page will assist us in growing our services," she said.

"Kids Are Worth It" is a non-profit organization that provides a nutritious breakfast, lunch and snack to students at Vera M. Welsh Elementary and Central Elementary School. This organization has been serving our community for the past 14 years. Both women say they are looking forward to community members using this page for the purchase or donation of items, and anticipate community members embracing the spirit of the page by adhering to page policies.
