LAC LA BICHE – Those who took in the garage and plant sale at the Lac La Biche Heritage Society on May 24 were able to browse through and purchase a variety of items ranging from locally-grown plants to locally-made wood crafted products, puzzles, books, housewares, and knitted Afghans.
The event was held at the local seniors’ centre. The plants on offer were grown by members of the Lac La Heritage Society, several of whom had vendor tables set up inside of the building.
Alice Thompson, a director with the Lac La Biche Heritage Society, explained that the garage and plant sale was put on as a fundraiser for the organization. There are always additional charges for things needed at the centre, she said, including cleaning.
“The more we bring in for a little bit here and there, the more that they can give things back to our members,” Thompson said. “It’s a fun, social activity as well.”
