Lac La Biche RCMP seek info on sign vandalism

Police confirm 28 signs damaged in spree

Adding to information in a story first published by LakelandToday.ca  Sunday, Lac La Biche RCMP have announced details about their investigation into an apparent vandalism spree that took place over the weekend.

In a news release issued today, Lac La Biche RCMP say that on May 8, at 7:30 am, their officers  received a complaint that sometime overnight two stop signs had been vandalized in the area of Township 654 and Range Road 153 in the Hylo area. Their investigation revealed a significantly higher damage count — with at least 28 traffic signs as well as a hamlet sign being vandalized or knocked down.

The damages are estimated at $18,000.

Police are urging anyone with information about these incidents, to contact the Lac La Biche RCMP at 780-623-4012 or 911. Tips can also be sent to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
