LAC LA BICHE – Young soccer players and their families, along with coaching officials with Lac La Biche FC, celebrated the wrap-up of the 2025 soccer season with a year-end party on June 25.
Those who attended the event, which took place inside of Lac La Biche’s Bold Centre, enjoyed barbecued hamburgers and hot dogs, fresh fruit, and desserts. There were also games for the kids, including an opportunity to play some indoor soccer.
Kika Mukuninwa, a coach with the U5 group of Lac La Biche FC, stated that the year-end wind up is put on annually by the local soccer association.
“It’s a way to get all the teams together, celebrate,” he told Lakeland This Week.
The various Lac La Biche soccer teams, Mukuninwa explained, did well throughout the 2025 season. With the older age groups there were a lot of combined teams with other communities, including Cold Lake. A number of these groups, he added, made it to the provincials.
“It was a very successful year,” Mukuninwa said.
