Last kicks — On Wednesday night, the men's and women's Portage College soccer teams were practicing for their final games of the regular season. The Voyageurs play on Saturday, Oct. 21 at home against the Concordia University of Edmonton Thunder. The games begin at noon.
Wednesday's practice included various running, kicking, defensive, and offensive drills, with the teams facing off against each other in inter-squad scrimmage.
Out of playoffs
Only the top three teams of the Alberta Colleges Athletic League's north and south divisions make playoffs. The men's squad will finish the season holding fifth place in the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) North zone. The women will finish the season in sixth place in their division standings.
The ACAC soccer playoffs run from October 26 to 28 at the Edmonton Soccer Dome.
