The Lac la Biche Dance Society, together with the Edmonton Ballet, are presenting an evening of wine, dance and music at the Bold Center’s Devon Room on March 25 that will celebrate the art of dance.
The local dance society is doing the show, featuring both local dancers and the city troupe’s professionals, as a fundraiser, and decided that a wine and cheese evening would make a good night out for people looking for a taste of urban culture in a small town. The Edmonton Ballet’s performance of a 22 minute piece set to classical music will add a “distinguished” touch to the evening, said LLB Dance Society president and event organizer Karen Brown, adding the local dance society has a good relationship with the city ballet.
The professional dancers of the Edmonton Ballet show the heights to which local dancers can aspire, and they will be bringing their artistic interpretations to Lac La Biche, something the dance troupe doesn’t normally do.
“To have the city ballet come here and perform is a very big thing,” she said.
