Local school kids have their 'Hats On' to show support for mental health

Schools throughout the Northern Lights Public Schools Division relaxed their hat rules for Wednesday, May 1 as students and staff wore their hats to school to show support and raise awareness of the importance of positive mental health.

Schools throughout the Northern Lights Public Schools Division relaxed their hat rules for Wednesday, May 1 as students and staff wore their hats to school to show support and raise awareness of the importance of positive mental health. The Hats On for Mental Health initiative was  Canada-wide initiative.

Students and staff were also encouraged to engage in conversations focused on understanding mental health and removing the stigma surrounding mental illnesses.
