Schools throughout the Northern Lights Public Schools Division relaxed their hat rules for Wednesday, May 1 as students and staff wore their hats to school to show support and raise awareness of the importance of positive mental health. The Hats On for Mental Health initiative was Canada-wide initiative.
Students and staff were also encouraged to engage in conversations focused on understanding mental health and removing the stigma surrounding mental illnesses.
