New logo brightens Summer Days event

Darren Happner at Lac La Biche's The Stitchin' Man has been working on some Summer Days 'swag' in the last few days.

LAC LA BICHE - Darren Happner at Lac La Biche's The Stitchin' Man has been working on some Summer Days 'swag' in the last few days. The short-notice event call for the long-weekend celebration has meant some busy times on for staff on embroidery and transfer machines.

With a new name for the annual event — moving from the long-standing Pow Wow Days —  newly-elected members of the Lac La Biche Pow Wow Days and Fish Derby Association (now the LLB PW&FS Assoc.) got their new logo from the local business.

Summer sale

With a sneak peek at the midway rides taking place on Thursday night, Happner says he will have a number of Summer Days shirts ready for sale.

On Tuesday, Happner and LLB PW &FD Assoc. president Lavon Fleming were checking out the new logo to see how it looks. The retro-look logo really looks good on the yellow T-shirts, he says.

The shirts are now on sale at The Stitchin' Man.

Fleming says she will have a number of baseball hats embroidered with the new logo to dish out during Friday morning's parade.

The Summer Days parade starts at McArthur Place at 11 a.m. on Friday.
