On the stage this week in the Lac La Biche region

Christmas concerts and CLUE are all part of a busy week of performances around the region

It's a busy week leading to the Christmas break on school and community stages in and around the Lac La Biche region.

The J. A. Williams High School's Drama production of CLUE is running from December 13 to 15, with three nightly community performances at McGrane Theatre in Portage College. The student performance is also being show at area schools through the week. The community shows start at 7 pm and tickets are available — $10 each — at the school by calling 780-623-4271.

Christmas concerts and holiday events are also filling school gymnasiums over the next week.

Aurora Middle School has it's holiday event on Thursday, December 14 at the school. Class choirs, band performances and skits will entertain family and friends in the school gym starting at 1pm.

Later in the day, the Light of Christ Catholic School will be hosting its youngest grades at the school's Christmas concert. The music and smiles begin at 6 pm.

The same night, Ecole Plamondon School is hosting its Christmas concert, taking the stage at 6:30 pm.

Next Monday, December 18, the kids and staff at Vera M. Welsh begin their three-day concert series with the pre-school and kindergarten classes. That show starts at 12:30 pm.

On the 19th — Tuesday — the francophone students at Ecole Ste. Catherine in Lac La Biche are performing their Christmas event. They take the stage at noon.

At 12:30 pm the same day — Tuesday — Grade 2 and 3 Vera M. students take the stage, inviting all the Grade 2 parents and families.

Also on Tuesday, the staff and students at the Amisk Community School at the Beaver Lake Cree Nation are hosting their Christmas concert. That one starts at 1 pm.
