RCMP looking for vehicle that reportedly hit a pedestrian

Police say they were called to a home on 92 Avenue in Lac La Biche that afternoon on a report that a man was lying on the ground with a head injury. Police say the call initially came in to help local EMS crews with a suspected stabbing.

The police investigation revealed the 21-year-old victim was walking with three other people when an unknown vehicle drove toward them and struck the one person. Police say the man was taken to hospital for minor injuries.  RCMP have not released any information on the type of vehicle, but are looking for anyone with information on the matter.

Stolen Quad

On Saturday, May 11,  Lac La Biche RCMP received a report of a stolen ATV from  the Ramada Hotel parking lot. The ATV is described as a 2009 Suzuki King Quad.

Youth assault

A youth at the Lac La Biche Youth Assessment Centre is facing three charges of assault after police were called to the facility on Thursday, May 16. Police say they were called by centre staff after a 13-year-old male youth reportedly attacked three staff members.

The youth continued to fight the staff until police arrived and took control of the youth. The youth has been charged with three counts of assault and six counts of breach of probation. He has been remanded in custody and will be appearing in Edmonton Provincial court this week.

Long weekend

RCMP were planning to be out in force over the May Long Weekend. Saturday, May 18 was National Impaired Driving Awareness Day. Police from various districts around the region were busy on area roadways. The POST will have more specific stats on the weekend's patrols in next week's POST.
