Rounding up the leaves

If you thought raking up a few bags-full of leaves in your backyard was a big deal, on Oct. 12 employees of Lakeland Lawn Care were using a dump truck to clear them away.

LAC LA BICHE - If you thought raking up a few bags-full of leaves in your backyard was a big deal, on Oct. 12 employees of Lakeland Lawn Care were using a dump truck to clear them away.

The local landscape company was gathering up the multitudes of fallen leaves that had accumulated on the grass in front of the Lac La Biche Provincial Building and adjacent provincial buildings on Beaver Hill Road.

In order to get the job completed that day, crews picked up the leaves using large lawn tractors with high powered vacuums. Once the leaves were gathered into massive piles, tractors scooped the piles into the back of dump trucks, which were then transported to nearby site for disposal.

Temperatures in the coming days are expected to drop to seasonal averages after two weeks of above average temperatures across the Lakeland.
