LAC LA BICHE - Lac La Biche County Libraries are offering a new Steampunkery program.
What's that, you might ask. Well, the first part of the word — STEAM — is based on the Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math focus of many educational programs. The second part, the "punkery," is based on the popular art-form of creating a finished product — often a product that performs a task — from a wide range of unique pieces.
Over the next several months, staff at the La La Biche and Plamondon libraries will offer Steampunkery kits to can create unique items like a wind-powered car, paper-plate sundials and an LED Christmas ornament.
The program allows patrons to take home the kits and create unique and practical. Information on the program can be found at the local libraries.
