UPDATE — The North East Junior B Hockey League, and similar leagues across Canada, have just cancelled the remaining games of their seasons and post-seasons. For local teams, that means the NEAJHL league finals scheduled to start tonight between the Lac La Biche Junior B Clippers and the St. Paul Canadiens have been cancelled.

Original story uploaded March 12 — The Lac La Biche Junior B Clippers will be facing the St. Paul Canadiens in the North East Alberta Junior B Hockey League championship finals. The first two games of the best-of-seven final will be at the Bold Center, and Clippers Coach Ron Tremblay is preparing his team for victory by keeping them on the same track they've been on all season.
“We aren’t going to change anything that we have been doing from the start of the season,” says Tremblay, who coached the Lac La Biche squad to an impressive 26-5 regular season. “We are just going play our style of hockey and just be prepared to play the whole 60 minutes against St. Paul and hopefully everything turns out in our favour.”
St. Paul beat last year's championship team the Wainwright Bisons in seven games in their semifinal round. The Canadiens finished the regular season in third place overall with a record of 20-8.
The first two games of the finals go this Friday and Saturday nights, both at the Bold Center at 7:30 pm.
In the wake of the COVID-19 epidemic, many sporting events and gatherings have been cancelled or postponed. Lac La Biche Minor Hockey Association officials and members of the Lac La Biche Atom Clippers announced on Thursday that the Atom Provincials that were to be hosted in Lac La Biche at the end of the month have been cancelled. As of right Friday, the Junior B Finals were still a go for the weekend.
