Vera M. Welsh hosts Christmas concert

The event, which took place on Monday, Dec. 18, featured singing by preschool, kindergarten, and Grade 1 students, as well as performances by the Grade 2 and 3 choir and the Grade 3 Tone Chime Choir.

LAC LA BICHE - The annual Christmas concert at Vera M. Welsh Elementary School in Lac La Biche took place on Dec. 18.

Preschool, kindergarten, and Grade 1 students entertained the large crowd that assembled inside the school gymnasium by singing well-known Christmas songs, including ‘Must be Santa’, ‘One Snowman Two’, ‘North Pole Rock N Roll’, and ‘Up on the Housetop’. The school’s kindergarten classes got together to perform a funny, Christmassy version of the popular party dance The Hokey Pokey called the ‘Reindeer Pokey.’

The hour-long show also included pieces by the mixed Grade 2 and 3 choir and the Grade 3 Tone Chime Choir, which performed such seasonal tunes as ‘Joy to the World’, ‘Christmas Tree, what will you be?’, and ‘O Come All Ye Faithful.’
