Recruits with the Lac La Biche County Peace Officer Training Program were keeping an eye — an electronic one — on the streets Thursday afternoon. Speed radar training is part of the extensive 10-week training program offered through the municipality and Portage College. The program draws new and existing peace officers from across the province. No tickets were issued during the afternoon training session focusing on the Highway 36 entrance to Lac La Biche during the afternoon school zone … but it definitely sped up the heart-rate of a few drivers entering the community.
