ST. PAUL - The St. Paul Archery Club hosted its annual 3-D shoot over the weekend, featuring 47 shooters in total over the two-day event, held at the St. Paul Ag Corral.
“The 3-D shoot is our main fundraiser and allows us to continue running the club,” says Justin Anderson, president of the club. “It also is a fun event and brings people from Edmonton and other surrounding communities into St. Paul, which in turn is great for the town.”
Over the two days of shooting, nearly 50 people took in the event. There was a mix of kids and adults of all ages, as well as all skill levels taking part.
“Some of the younger shooters got to experience their first shoot, and some of the more experienced shooters used this as a small tune up for a the Vegas Shoot, which is a World Archery Competition,” says Anderson.
The archery club operates in the evenings from the end of September to the end of April. In May and June the club is open upon request, and is then closed for the summer months. The club operates out of a facility located on main street, in the basement of the downtown mall.
The weekend 3-D shoot was made possible because of volunteers with the club, along with support from sponsors.
