ASHMONT - June 5 should have been a day that saw the Ashmont School gymnasium filled with friends and family, celebrate the accomplishments of this year's graduating class. Instead, a drive-in grad was held throughout the afternoon on Friday, allowing students and staff a chance to celebrate safely.
Graduating students and their parents were able to drive through the school's bus lane, where they were cheered on and congratulated by the school staff. At the end of the bus lane, a photo booth was set up, and graduates received a swag bag with gifts. Ashmont School staff commended graduates for all their hard work throughout the years.
Schools throughout the region are finding unique ways to celebrate graduates, following the postponement of many graduation ceremonies due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
