BONNYVILLE – Pack the police car, stuff the squad car, cram the cruiser – whichever you choose – the Bonnyville RCMP detachment hopes residents will drop off perishable food items on Dec. 11, for the fourth annual Pack the Police Car event.

Members of the Bonnyville RCMP detachment and its partnering organizations will be stationed at the Sobeys' parking lot from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 11, to collect non-perishable food items for the local food bank.

With the goal to stuff a police truck full of donations, RCMP S/Sgt. Sarah Parke says, the items donated will go to help support families in need this Christmas season.

"If we’re lucky Santa will drop by to wish everyone a Happy Holiday and help accept the food donations," says Parke. "We at the Bonnyville RCMP are very happy to be able to do our part to pitch in to help those in need this holiday season."
