ST. PAUL - A day filled with family fun is set to take place on Canada Day in St. Paul

From 12 p.m. to 4 p.m., the Town of St. Paul will be hosting Canada Day celebrations at the St. Paul Recreation Center. Included in the list of activities are a petting zoo, bouncy houses, a vendors market, arts and crafts, magician performances and a performance by the Kehewin Native Dance Theatre.

"We are excited to have the addition of the Kehewin Native Dance Theatre this year with their performance taking place from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.," says Sarah Burton, executive assistant at the Town of St. Paul.

Another new addition to this year's fun is a dunk tank, which is being organized by the St. Paul & District Chamber of Commerce.

A show and shine with monster truck rides will also take place from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., while magician performances are scheduled for 12:15 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.

"Our intent each year is to continue with new additions to the day that will run alongside the annual favourites such as the petting zoo, vendors markets, arts and crafts station... to keep everyone engaged. When we begin coordinating the day, we are ultimately aiming to have activities and events that appeal to everyone," said Burton.

There will also be food vendors on site during the day.

The festivities will wrap up with a long-time tradition - a fireworks show at approximately 11 p.m., which also takes place near the St. Paul Rec Centre.

Once this year's Canada Day celebrations wrap up, there will be a short survey available on the Town of St. Paul website as a way to gather community input for the planning of future Canada Day Celebrations.
