BONNYVILLE – A Bonnyville resident was arrested on Jan. 14 and charged with several offences, after allegedly failing to stop for police.

After receiving a report of a suspicious vehicle travelling in the area of 62 Street in Bonnyville, a Bonnyville RCMP member attempted to pull over the vehicle in question.

According to RCMP, the attempt to pull the car over failed when the driver allegedly fled from police, only to get stuck in a snowbank a short distance away.

The male driver fled on foot and Police Dog Services were contacted to assist, states RCMP.

The man was caught later, hiding nearby.

Christopher Olszowka, 32, was charged with driving while prohibited, as well as several other offences not provided by police.

Olszowka was held for a bail hearing and was released on $100 cash bail. His next court appearance is Feb. 7.
