BONNYVILLE - Two Edmonton people face trafficking charges after being arrested Jan. 19 in Bonnyville. 

Cold Lake RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS) initiated an investigation into illegal drug trafficking in the area of Cold Lake in December of 2022. According to a media release issued this week, "on Jan. 19, Cold Lake GIS, with the assistance of Bonnyville RCMP, executed a search warrant within the town of Bonnyville in relation to this investigation. Two suspects were arrested, and police located approximately 102 grams of suspected crack cocaine, as well as approximately $5,860 in Canadian currency." 

Marvin Anthony Prince, 39, and Averie Anne Herbert, 32, both residents of Edmonton, have been charged with the following offences: possession of a controlled substance for trafficking and possession of proceeds of crime. 

Prince was released by a Justice of the Peace to appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court on Feb. 8, 2023. 

Herbert was released to appear in Cold Lake Provincial Court on Mar. 22, 2023.
