VEGREVILLE - A collision along Highway 36 near Twp Rd 510 claimed the life of a 73-year-old woman from Elk Point on April 1.
Vegreville RCMP responded to a report of a two vehicle collision at about 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
A preliminary investigation found an SUV was travelling eastbound on Twp Rd 510 and failed to stop at a stop sign. A collision occurred with a northbound semi-tractor travelling on the highway, according to an RCMP media release.
The 73-year-old lone female occupant in the SUV was from Elk Point and was pronounced deceased at the scene, according to RCMP. The driver of the semi-tractor was not injured.
Vegreville RCMP along with a RCMP Collision Analyst continue to investigate and no further updates are anticipated. The name of the deceased will not be released, according to the RCMP media release.
