Colourful art at mosaic workshop

Participants learn and create thanks to Alberta Culture Days grant

ST. PAUL - A mosaic art workshop was hosted by the St. Paul & District Arts Foundation from Sept. 2 to 5 in St. Paul, with a special guest artist and local artist leading the way.

Argentinian-born artist Christian Pérès Gibaut was on hand to teach participants about the unique art form, while local artist Eric Spoeth was also in attendance offering his expertise. On Sept. 3, participants were busy creating and placing colourful fragments into their individual sections.

The finished work is scheduled to be installed on the north wall of Myrnam Insurance during the afternoon of Sept. 5. The project was made possible thanks to an Alberta Culture Days grant from the provincial government, and support from local municipalities.
