Fishing Lake man facing charges in connection with ramming of police cruiser

Stolen vehicle found in St. Paul

ST. PAUL - St. Paul RCMP responded to a report of a stolen truck parked on the 4400 block of 48 Street in St. Paul Monday.

RCMP were able to identify the driver of the vehicle and with the assistance of Alberta RCMP Police Dog Services and Alberta RCMP Traffic Services the male was located nearby and arrested.

RCMP had actively been searching for the truck after it was used to ram a Bonnyville RCMP police vehicle earlier in the day, according to a police report which indicates the Ford F350 was stolen from outside the 7-11 in Bonnyville. When RCMP attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle allegedly used it to ram the RCMP vehicle causing damage and then fled the scene.

Kyle Laboucane, 27, of Fishing Lake faces charges of flight from police, assault with a weapon, operating a motor vehicle while prohibited and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He was remanded in custody and will be in court on Nov. 4.
