COLD LAKE - Over the weekend, the Take Flight Cheer and Dance Competition held at the Cold Lake Energy Centre hosted hundreds of dancers and cheerleaders who arrived from all across the province.
The two day event included three groups from the Lakeland including Premier Academy from Bonnyville, the Cheer Force Jets from Cold Lake and Lloydminster, and individual performances by gymnasts from Ashlin Gymnastics Club in Bonnyville.
The youngest team from Premier Academy, team Scorchers, Fireflies and Flames were rated 'Excellent' in their division. The Premier Academy's Glimmer team won the third place banner for their division.
Team Dynamite earned second place in their division while team Intensity received third place.
Team Xplosion took gold after placing first in their division and received a bid to perform in Disneyland and the Grand Championships.
