Gravel truck crash near Skaro could affect Lakeland area travel plans

Thanksgiving Friday travel could be affected by popular rural route to and from Lakeland communities

At 5:45 pm on Friday, RCMP were advising that emergency crews  were at a single vehicle rollover involving a gravel truck on Highway 831, two kilometres north of Highway 45 near the Skaro Shrine. The crash is about 40 kilometres south of Wasakatenau.

The driver of the gravel truck was transported to hospital with non life threatening injuries.

Detour traffic

Motorists using the route for Thanksgiving weekend travel plans for Friday night are being advised to take a different way. 

Highway crews are working on cleaning up the gravel but are predicting it will take three to four hours. Traffic is being rerouted. RCMP are advising motorists to  avoid the area.
