RCMP made a 'high risk arrest' on Nov. 1.
LAKELAND - A wanted offender has been arrested thanks to a joint effort between a number of RCMP resources in the Lakeland.
On Nov. 1, the RCMP's Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit, Cold Lake detachment officers, Cold Lake Police Dog Services, Cold Lake General Investigative Section, Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit and the Eastern Alberta District Criminal Intelligence Unit arrested 18-year-old Myron Moyah in Cold Lake.
"Moyah was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant for offences related to a shooting and a police pursuit that occurred in Lloydminster on Sept. 21," according to RCMP.
Moyah is now being held in police custody, pending the outcome of a judicial interim release hearing.
RCMP would like to thank the public for their patience while the "high risk arrest" was taking place on Monday, in the area of 25th St. and 28th St. in Cold Lake.
Background
As a result of an ongoing investigation into the Sept. 21 shooting, Lloydminster RCMP General Investigation Section had previously arrested and charged three other individuals in connection to the incident and said they were looking for Moyah.
The shooting occurred on Sept. 21 at about 9:40 p.m. RCMP responded to the incident, which happened near the 2600 block of 44 Avenue in Lloydminster.
"Preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle attended a residence in this area, and one of the occupants met with one of the residents of the house. During this meeting, another male approached the house and discharged a firearm several times," according to RCMP.
The incident is believed to have been targeted.
