Junior curlers test their skills

ST. PAUL - Junior curlers took to the rink on Sunday to put the skills they've been practicing to test in what is the first bonspiel ever for many of the young athletes.

Following a full day of curling at the St. Paul Curling Rink, winners were announced and prizes were handed out. Coming in first place was the team made up of Ava Corriveau, Karlee Blain, Olivia Jean, and Mathew Yakiwchuk. In second place it would be Caydence Bohn, Maya Yakiwchuk, Ethan Noel and Daniel Petruk.

Spirit awards were also handed out to athletes. The awards were chosen by the junior curling club coaches. Receiving spirit awards were: Kalli Foisy, Savannah Fontaine, Daniel Petruk, and Conner Koss.

Sunday's bonspiel signifies the end of the season for the junior curlers.
