BONNYVILLE - Bonnyville RCMP members continue to be busy, responding to 123 investigations between Dec. 10 and 17.
One of those investigations included a 45-year-old man who was wanted on outstanding warrants being apprehended. On Dec. 15, a Bonnyville RCMP member was patrolling south on 66th Street in Bonnvyille when the member noticed a car registered to a man on outstanding warrants.
"The vehicle turned into a driveway on 66 Street. The RCMP member initiated his emergency lights behind the vehicle, however the driver had already exited the vehicle and entered the residence at that time," according to police.
The police officer spoke to the homeowners and was able to identify the driver. He was arrested on his warrants and transported to the Bonnyville RCMP detachment.
"Further investigation revealed the male was a suspended driver and he was subsequently charged with that and the vehicle was towed and seized for 30 days."
MVC with bus
On Dec. 16, at 11:15 a.m. Bonnyville RCMP responded to a two vehicle collision on Highway 657 in Kehewin. The MVC involved a school bus and a car.
"There were no children on the bus and neither driver was injured," according to RCMP.
An 18-year-old woman from Bonnyville driving the car was found to be a GDL driver, however she did not have an adult supervisor with her. She was charged and issued a warning for driving too fast for the road conditions.
