BONNYVILLE – RCMP have acknowledged increased police presence at a rural property north of the Town of Bonnyville and the use of RCMP Air Services – but are remaining tight lipped about what they are investigating.

On Jan. 19, members from the Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit, with assistance from RCMP Air Services, Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit and additional RCMP Units, executed a Search Warrant at a rural Bonnyville property, confirmed an RCMP media release.

"No further details can be released at this time as the matter is still under investigation,” state RCMP.

However, criminal charges are pending, according to police.

Mounties say there is no immediate risk to the public in relation to this investigation and a more detailed media release is expected in the near future.
