BONNYVILLE – At the end of September, Bonnyville RCMP were called to two separate incidents that both involved a man and woman duo trespassing on rural properties.

In both cases, RCMP members were able to attend the area and apprehend the suspects. In total, four people were charged, two with trespassing at night and two with breaking and entering.

On Sept. 24, rural homeowner in Birch Grove Estates called the Bonnyville RCMP at 6 a.m., to report that there were two unknown people, a man and a woman, on his property.

“The homeowner watched remotely from his video surveillance system as a white minivan drove onto his property and a female got out and walked toward the residence then returned to the minivan and left the property,” described a RCMP media release.

The attending RCMP members reviewed the footage to get descriptions of the individuals then patrolled the area, where they reported locating the minivan parked at a different property in Birch Grove Estates. The two suspects were allegedly found inside the residence.

A 40-year-old woman from Bonnyville and a 40-year-old man from Cold Lake are both facing a charge of breaking and entering.

The Cold Lake man is set to appear in court on Oct. 25 and the Bonnyville woman on Nov. 22.

In a second incident that occurred on Sept. 28, Bonnyville RCMP received a call from a rural homeowner on Township Road 604 near Range Road 454, just before 11 p.m. reporting “two suspicious people in a vehicle entering private property for a purpose that appeared to be for criminal reasons.”

RCMP attended the area and located the suspicious vehicle and arrested the male and female suspects.

A 27-year-old woman from Ardmore and a 43-year-old man from Bonnyville are facing charges of trespassing at night.

The man is set to appear in court on Oct. 25, while the women is scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 8.
