St. Paul 4-H Riding Club wraps up season

4-H Riding group

ST. PAUL - The St. Paul 4-H Riding Club Achievement Day took place on June 12 at the St. Paul AG Corral, offering a chance for young members to use the skills they’ve been learning on their horses throughout the year.

The group chose to do gymkhana events at the year-end achievement day. Top performers of the day include: Cleaver member Emma Charbonneau, Junior member Owen Grykuliak, and Intermediate member Savannah Fontaine.

Owen Grykuliak also won in dummy roping.

Prizes for best decorated horse stall were also handed out, with Emma Charbonneau taking top honours.

Miles Wowk was the judge for the day, and Terry and Theresa Cartier were the announcers and timers.

Events included barrels, poles, keyhole, goat tying, along with a couple novelty games such as egg and spoon and toilet paper races.

The day was an excellent way to end the year, according to those involved.

A big thanks went out to the sponsors and others who have helped the club throughout the year.

And special thanks went out to the club’s leaders Kim Grykuliak, Crystal Charbonneau, and Meagan Axley. All the kids improved so much throughout the year and can’t wait to get back at it again.
