Like many large-scale fundraisers, STARS has had to cancel much of its fundraising initiatives set for the spring and summer of 2020.

But the organization, which provides life-saving services during medical emergencies, has decided to stream a virtual concert and fundraiser to help ensure funds are in place to save the next patient in need.

“STARS is an integral part of the emergency response system in Western Canada and continues to fly the critically ill and injured during crises such as the pandemic we are currently facing,” said Andrea Robertson, STARS president and CEO. “We want to assure you that our crews remain mission ready at all six bases across three provinces and that your support of Streaming for STARS will directly help Western Canadians who live, work and travel across the Prairies.”

Scheduled performers for the virtual concert include Flat Lake's own Brett Kissel, along with popular country musicians George Canyon, Aaron Pritchett, Gord Bamford, Hunter Brothers, The Washboard Union, Jess Moskaluke, Aaron Goodvin, Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Chris Buck Band, Bobby Wills, Dan Davidson, Tenille Arts, Rob Watts, Trevor Panczak and more.

There will also be scheduled appearances by Ron MacLean, Mark McMorris, Dan Clark, Josh Morrissey, Kim Coates and STARS team members.

“One hundred per cent of proceeds raised will support STARS’ life-saving operations at each of our six bases,” said Robertson.

Streaming for STARS will be held on May 8, 2020, starting at 7 p.m. It will be live-streamed online at streamingforstars.ca
