Thieves steal bank safe from Plamondon ATB

Pickup trucks used to smash into Plamondon bank - safe stolen - police investigating

Lac La Biche RCMP are seeking the public's assistance for information relating to Monday morning's crash and grab robbery at the Plamondon ATB branch.

RCMP say they responded to an alarm call at approximately 4 am that mornng at the Plamondon bank.

Police say two pickup trucks were apparently used to smash into the building's front door and remove the bank's safe. Police have not disclosed how much money was in the safe at the time or how many suspects are being sought.

Witnesses have told police one of the suspect vehicles was seen leaving the scene heading south on Plamondon's main street towards Highway 55. Police did patrol the area, but the trucks were not located.
