LAC LA BICHE – Lac La Biche County council voted unanimously to approve three motions after slightly more than an hour in closed session on June 3. Details of what precisely was approved were sparse.
“I know the general public don't like when we come out of closed session and just say, ‘take as information’ or ‘proceed as discussed.’ But unfortunately, sometimes we have to when there's agreements involved and individuals or corporations,” said Lac La Biche County Mayor Paul Reutov.
The three motions were:
“To present an update and options as discussed in closed session to a future meeting of council,” in reference to correspondence from the Government of Alberta and an infrastructure update.
That “Council direct administration to proceed as discussed in closed session,” in reference to transitional housing.
And, “To direct administration to proceed with negotiations on the development supply matter and bring forward an amended schedule of fees at a future council meeting,” in reference to a development supply matter that was added to the agenda and not included in the publicly available documents.
