Two sent to hospital following multi-vehicle collision near Ashmont

A multi-vehicle collision closed Highway 28 near Ashmont on Monday for a portion of the afternoon.

ASHMONT - Two people were transported to hospital by ambulance following a multi-vehicle collision on Jan. 3 west of Ashmont.

A portion of Highway 28 was closed for a couple of hours in the afternoon, as emergency crews worked at the scene.

"There was a multi-vehicle collision yesterday that closed Highway 28 for a short period of time," confirmed Sgt. Stephen Nolan, with St. Paul RCMP. "Roads in the area were snow covered and visibility was poor."

He added the two people transported to hospital had non-life threatening injuries.

The incident is still under investigation.
