Smoky Lake RCMP are reporting on Sunday morning that a section of Highway 28 near Vilna is open to traffic following a fatality crash on Saturday afternoon.
A section of the busy Lakeland thouroughfare between Range Roads 142 and 143 had been closed since a three-vehicle collision occurred at about 2pm on Saturday. Traffic was diverted to Township Road 594 via Range Roads 141 and 142 during the highway closure.
RCMP have reported that the crash involved at least one fatality, but Sunday's updated information about the road opening did not provide any further information about the crash.
