BONNYVILLE – In six days, seven motor vehicles were stolen in the Town of Bonnyville, according to the Bonnyville RCMP detachment.
“That’s an average of more than one per day,” noted RCMP Staff Sgt. Sarah Parke.
Vehicle thefts occurred between December 16-22. So far only two of the seven have since been recovered.
“The RCMP cannot stress enough the importance of every vehicle owner taking the initiative to do their part in preventing vehicle theft,” Parke continued.
Precautionary measures that RCMP urge vehicle owners to take include: “Always lock your vehicle when not using it, never leave the keys inside the vehicle unattended, don’t keep a spare key in or attached to your vehicle and never leave valuables in plain sight that might tempt a thief.”
