The Bonnyville Jr. A Pontiacs dropped to second in the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL) after a win and a loss. After a shutout win against the Lloydminster Bobcats, the Pontiacs fell to the Brooks Bandits in overtime on home ice last week.

The Bonnyville Sr. AA Pontiacs had a win and a loss on home ice this past weekend. They celebrated a 4-3 victory over the Sylvan Lake Pirates on Saturday, Nov. 3, but fell to Red Deer 7-2 the next day.

The Bonnyville Bandits are league champions. The bantam team won the Wheatland Football League Championship game 58-6 against the St. Paul Bengals on Satuday, Nov. 3 at Walsh Field.

The Bonnyville Renegades took second place in their league. On Sunday, Nov. 4, the Renegades fell 50-0 to the hosting Lloydminster Colts. Head coach Josh Jubinville said, “The kids came out, and performed really well.

The St. Paul Bengals bantam football team is heading to the league finals in a rematch of the 2017 league final that saw them take on the Bonnyville Bandits.

The football playoff action was hot in Bonnyville this past weekend. The Bandits and Renegades both won their semi-final match-ups, securing their spots in the finals.
