Three young North East Alberta Track athletes competed at Hershey’s Track and Field Games at Foote Field in Edmonton on June 21, and while none reached the podium, all three came back with a wealth of experience.

St. Paul Minor Ball wrapped up its season for many local teams this weekend, with the Mosquito B Storm and the Bantam boys and girls Storm taking home league championships.

A number of anglers walked away with extra cash in their pocket after the 4th annual Moose Lake Walleye Classic. Hosted by the Elk Point Lions Club, there were 110 boats out on the waters of Moose Lake for the two-day event on June 26 and 27.

The St. Paul Soccer Association welcomed 54 soccer squads to the local pitches for the annual Lakeland Cup this past week, and when it was all said and done, St. Paul’s U14 boys and U18 girls teams took home the bronze and gold, respectively.

Twenty-two of St. Paul’s youngest golfers hit the links on Saturday afternoon for the annual Junior Open, and tournament organizer Monique Pasitney said she was impressed by what she saw from the town’s up and coming talent.

Forty-five runners stepped onto the Iron Horse Trail for the Iron Horse Mini, a 32 km run aimed at raising interest for the Iron Horse Ultra 100 in the fall while kicking off the annual outdoor running season.
